THE HOUSE

The space

The original semi-detached house which dates back to the 1950’s was completely renovated in 2017. The whole house has been gutted, and completely refurbished to a high standard. Walls were knocked down , French windows were added to create an open plan living/dining/lounge opening onto a large terrace with spectacular views across the lake..The tumble down “ripostiglio” or chicken shed was knocked down and turned into a garden room, and part of the garden was dug up to create a pool. The picturesque loggia which was used for car parking, was turned into an outdoor lounge. Though not a large house, we have made the best use of all the space which can comfortably accommodate 3 couples or families of 6. 

The house is on 3 levels: 1st floor next to car space, ground floor, and lower ground floor or garden level. All levels are accessed by external steps to the side of our property and is shared with our neighbours who have gardens on either side of ours.

Facilities

We completed the renovation in late summer 2017 and provide the following facilities:- 

• Private Small swimming pool with steps for access NB no shallow end,unheated (most pools around Lake Como are unheated)

• Garden/pool room including shower room, small kitchen, sofa, small dining table and 2 chairs, upright piano

• New designer bathrooms ~ ensuite to master bedroom, family bathroom

• Large, well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar, bar stools, fan oven, microwave, induction hob, food processor, liquidiser, hand mixer, good selection of saucepans, frying pans etc

• Ground floor cloakroom with downstairs lavatory, wash hand basin

• Utility room with separate washing machine and dryer, ironing board, vacuum cleaner, brooms, cleaning equipment etc

• Ceiling fans in all rooms

• Underfloor heating AND wood stove

• Fast wifi

• Sonos music system in all rooms except garden room

Bedrooms

3 double bedrooms comprising:-

Super king, zip and link storage bed which separates into 2 standard singles, with access to balcony with views over lake, ensuite bathroom, bedside tables and lamps, chest of drawers

King wrought iron bed with access to balcony with views over lake, large double wardrobe, bedside tables and lamps, small dressing table

1 standard double bed, bedside tables and lamps, small fitted wardrobe

All the bedlinen is of hotel quality.

Places to chill

• Loggia with sofas, on 1st floor accessed from parking space through wrought iron gates , and 1st floor front door accessing bedrooms and bathrooms

• Large terrazza on Ground floor extending out from Open plan living area, teak table and chairs for 8, large umbrella

• Garden terrace by pool on Lower ground floor with loungers, deckchairs , BBQ
